As we now move into the warmer months with longer daylight hours and brighter evenings, it’s time to start looking forward to the range of events that will be popping up across Nairn over the next few weeks.
Taste of Nairn 28th – 30th April
Nairn’s Food and Drink Festival. Businesses across Nairn will host events spanning the event weekend. A two day artisan market will take place in Nairn Community & Arts Centre along with the Tattie Scone Championship (Saturday) and the Show Stopper Cake Competition (Sunday). There is something for all ages and plenty of tasty food and drink for purchase. Full listings are available here.
Little Theatre, Nairn
The Little Theatre has performances taking place all year. In April you can see “Loving the enemy” on the 20th of April. “Based on a true story by Hilda De Felice, Loving the Enemy was originally penned as a movie and later adapted for the stage by acclaimed dramatist Lorenzo Novani.” Book your tickets here.
Nairn Museum
Opening on 3rd April, Nairn Museum features 5 exhibition rooms: the Fishertown Room, Military Room, Way of Life Room, Work & Play Room and the Burgh Room. With something for all ages as well as wheelchair access and a stairlift, visitors are welcome to come and learn more about Nairn.
The Havelock
With a Thursday Night Quiz and Karaoke on Sundays, there’s lots going on at the Havelock, but they have live bands too. In April you can see The National Anthem on the 14th and The Shire on the 29th.
The Bandstand
The Home of Live Music in Nairn will be hosting a plethora of bands throughout April, including Samba Sene and Diwan for Taste of Nairn.
Nairn Community & Arts Centre
As well as hosting the Taste of Nairn Artisan Market at the end of the month, the Community & Arts Centre will be hosting a tribute to Queen on the 22nd of April. The art of Ali Mitchell will also be on display throughout the centre.
The Play House, Nairn
Bontan, the DJ turned producer, will be playing on the 28th April. He will be supported by: Ckaz, Michael Mulligan, HRDR & DJ PAM.
