Our lovely seaside town of Nairn has a lot to offer, especially if you love the outdoors! Here are five things not to miss when you visit:
Beach Fun and Dolphin Spotting
Nairn has two beautiful beaches, Nairn East Beach and Nairn West Beach. They’re perfect for building sandcastles, having a picnic, or just enjoying a stroll along the shoreline. You might even be lucky and spot dolphins! The Moray Firth, which Nairn overlooks, is home to a pod of bottlenose dolphins. If you’re lucky, you might see them playing in the waves. Remember to bring binoculars and keep a watchful eye out!
Nairn is the perfect destination for water sports – if you enjoy sea swimming, paddle boarding or kayaking you will love our beaches with easy access from the Links car park or the leisure centre.

Exploring the Links and Play Parks
Nairn Links is a large grassy area right by the beach, and it’s a fantastic place for outdoor activities. You can fly a kite, play football or play crazy golf. There are also several play parks in Nairn, including one on the Links, and the amazing Nairn Splash Pad (open during the summer months). It’s a great spot for young ones to burn off some energy! For older kids and adults there is a free outdoor gym opposite the leisure centre for a workout with a view.
To take a break after all these activities, enjoy an ice cream or snack from one of the nearby Cafes!

Walks and bike rides along the River Nairn
Nairn Harbour is a picturesque spot where you can watch the boats come and go. From the Harbour, you can also walk along the River Nairn along the signposted circular riverside walk. The river walk is a peaceful and scenic route, perfect for a relaxing stroll or a bike ride. You can also try to spot some wildlife along the riverbanks.
