There’s loads going on in Nairn this Christmas – it’s a great place to visit to relax and enjoy the festive season!
First up, of course, is the Town’s celebrated “Countdown to Christmas” event, on November 25th, staged by Nairn BID, which brings together street markets, craft fayres, local entertainers and performers, a Santa’s grotto and of course the Nairnshire & District Pipe Band, kicking things off with great aplomb. There will be a shop window decorating competition and many shopkeepers will be spilling out into the street and joining in with special offers galore, so watch out for social media updates on what is available, and book your accommodation if you’re visiting for the weekend!
Nairn has plenty of live music venues and most of our pubs, clubs and restaurants will be hosting Christmas party nights of one kind or another. Check out the Nairn Community & Arts Centre, the Bandstand, and the Havelock, Jacko’s Bar, as well as the British Legion and the Seaforth Club.
Worth checking out for their Christmas menus alone are award winning restaurant, Sun Dancer, the Classroom Bistro and, hoping to open on Christmas day itself, the Clubhouse.
Finally, there are not one, but TWO pantos happening – Hansel & Gretel are appearing at the Little Theatre from the 4th – 16th December, and The Night before Christmas will be showing at the Community & Arts Centre on the 22nd & 23rd December.
There will also be a very special appearance from the Highland Brass on the evening of the 14th December in the Wallace Bandstand on the Links. An opportunity for a bit of carol singing and some seriously festive music!
Whatever you get up to in Nairn this Christmas, have a happy and peaceful one, and if you can’t make it, we’ll see you in the New Year!
